The Donations and Grants Committees are composed of worker-owners
elected by the Membership whose
purpose is to distribute gifts, donations, and grants to selected
groups and organizations.Every year the Board of Directors works with the outgoing committees to set the Donations and Grants budget for the coming year. The current Donations and Grants Committees then distribute donations and grants to recipients throughout the year. For the fiscal year 2004-2005, Rainbow Grocery Cooperative awarded approximately $130,000 in grants and donations.
Donations Committee The Donations Committee is made up of two worker-owners who elected annually by the Membership. The purpose of the Donations Committee is to administer donations to local non-profit organizations, groups and projects in our community. The Donations Committee largely provides food donations to organizations that provide on-going services to the community and one-time donations for events organized to support community groups.
